Day 11 Zion

After yesterday’s rain we woke to glorious sunshine with the expectation of temperature in the high 90s.

We had decided to do a short walk in the canyon and took the public transport bus several stops and about two miles from where we are staying. The Park Ranger suggested a slightly different route which we accepted and, loaded up with water again, off we went.

After a short climb we looked out over the North Fork Virgin River and the Canyon beyond.  Our three miles was shorter than yesterday and there was less climbing but at about twenty degrees hotter it was still hard work.

We decided to head back home to the cool of our property for lunch followed by a swim under the eves of these dramatic mountains.

Tomorrow we leave and drive a couple of hundred miles West back through Arizona and into Nevada for the first time.

Zion will remain imprinted on our minds.
